A small, family-run home —run by the same people, with the same name, since the 1990s.
Conifer Lodge is a private residential home for older adults in Wigston, Leicestershire, owned and operated by The Kemp Family. The Kemps have over thirty years of experience in caring for older adults and run two homes between them: Conifer Lodge here in Wigston, and Welford Court in Knighton.
How we run the home
A team, not a rota.
Chris Kemp is registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection and is ably supported by the full-time Manager, Amanda Simpson. Together with their team they have many years of experience providing long-term care for older adults, and they have learned to encourage the right mix of independence and support — alongside the simple companionship of other residents within a friendly, family atmosphere.
The advantage of a small family home is the advantage you’d expect: continuity. The person who picks up the phone has met your relative; the person showing you round is the person who’ll be there next month; the people making decisions are inside the building.
We’re not the biggest, the newest, or the most clinical home in Leicester. We are a home in the plain sense of the word — with a kitchen we cook in, a garden we sit in, and people we’ve known for years.
